Happy New Year!
Wow, what a year 2015 was. THANK YOU, our customers, for making it most excellent. We hope you enjoyed the expanded menu – burgers, brisket cheese steak and the Augusta spinach salad are now permanent fixtures – as well as the new whisky and bar menu. We have grown our whisky/whiskey selection, and are pleased to offer more than 120 bottles on the wall. The 2nd annual Durham Craft Beer Festival was enjoyed by more than 1,500 craft beer enthusiasts, and the new Spotlight In-House format for Cider’s and Seasonals was launched to excellent feedback.
We have some lofty goals for 2016, including trying to keep this blog going regularly. We intend it to be a place where we will run down all the events and specials we have planned for the week, and also to share what we are thinking, experimenting with, or what excites us (and, yes, it is bacon). Here goes …
We kicked off 2016 with our 2nd Annual Hair of the Dog Brunch at our Downtown Oshawa location. Thanks to all that came out to enjoy fried chicken and waffles and mimosas!
Saturday night in Downtown Oshawa (Jan 2nd) the lovely Cheryl Stiles is playing from 8:30 pm to close. Live music will return on Friday Jan 8th at 8:30 pm with Blues & Jazz c/o Dan Silver and Friends.
We have been working hard on creating a new line of meat products, and are excited to launch these to you in the coming weeks. Sausages, all natural hot dogs, and bacon! Bacon is available now in all 3 locations for the introductory price of $8/lb, and we will have another post about all these amazing meats coming soon.
Mark your calendars! February 4-7 Buster Rhino’s Downtown Oshawa will be hosting the Durham Craft Beer Festival: A Midwinter Night’s Dream – a 4 day in-house beer festival featuring winter seasonals and cider. No ticket purchase necessary. $2.50 samples, no minimum. For more details, check out www.durhamcraftbeer.com
That’s it for now! Have a wonderful first week of 2016.
